Professor Maria Chernaya (Faculty of History) got an award for her book “Tomsk Governor’s Mansion in 1660-1760: the historical and archeological reconstruction”. The book that reveals the research on the history of medieval Tomsk was published in 2015. It covers the connections between the high social status of the medieval governor of Tomsk region and the architectural features of his mansion. The architecture also reflects the typical features of Russian culture — the mixture of both Eastern and Western traditions. In addition, it shows the way Tomsk has become the part of Siberian and world heritage.
