Earth Sciences (PhD)
About the program
The program is aimed at the development of personal qualities and the formation of universal, general professional and professional competences among the postgraduates. The area of professional activity involves solving problems that require the application of basic and applied knowledge in the field of Earth Sciences.
The fields of professional activity are:
- the Earth and its main geospheres — the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere, their composition, structure, evolution and properties;

geophysical fields and deposits of solid and liquid minerals;

natural, natural and economic, man-made, industrial, recreational, social and territorial systems, and structures at the global, national, regional and local levels, their study, monitoring of their condition, and forecasts of development;

search, study and exploitation of mineral deposits; natural resource use; geographic information systems;

territorial planning, designing and forecasting;

environmental assessment of all forms of economic activity; education and public awareness.
