Innovation Technologies and Agribusiness Industry (AI)

About the program

In accordance to doctrine of food security, the strategic goal of Russian policy is to ensure a reliable supply to its citizens of safe and quality agricultural products.

Master’s program Innovation Technologies and Agribusiness Industry provides students with professional knowledge and skills in the areas of crop production, biological plant protection, and agricultural biotechnology. The program is aimed at solving a number of issues related to production of quality agricultural products and consulting activities for agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership. The students will be able to work in agricultural and biotechnological research institutes, breeding centers, laboratories engaged in the production of biological products, and information and consulting services, and at universities.

Aim of the program

The program’s aim is to equip specialists with all necessary knowledge and skills for working in the agricultural sector and solving complex problems of AI.

Courses


The present program include the following courses providing the target competences:

The educational process is based on new technologies, approaches and pedagogical methods (business games, multimedia lectures, computer programs).

The training of students is carried out by prior agreement with employers of the Siberian Federal District and other regions. It is realized within the framework of research and education collaboration with universities and research institutions under collaboration agreements: Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture and Peat (Tomsk), Institute of Monitoring of Climatic and Ecological Systems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMCES SB RAS) (Tomsk), Central Siberian Botanical Garden (Novosibirsk), LLC Trubacheva (Tomsk Region).

Lecturers

"Innovative Technologies in AI" is provided by faculty members of the University's three departments: Agriculture, Plant Protection, and Environmental and Agricultural Biotechnology. Masters will also be able to conduct research activities at the University’s Institute Biology and Biophysics, at Siberian Botanical Garden, at Research Institute of Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and at other enterprises in the agricultural sector of the Tomsk Region.

The University’s material and technical facility includes class rooms with multimedia equipment for lecture classes, laboratory classes with optical equipment, computer rooms and research laboratories, Siberian Botanical Garden, and Research Institute of Biology and Biophysics.

Areas of activity of graduates:


With the knowledge and skills obtained, the students will be able to continue education as postgraduate students and work at different research organizations and production companies in the agricultural sector, such a: Krasota SM, SAVA, Lama, and Siberian Agrarian Group.
