Masters Program in Russian Studies: Siberia is a program aimed at training professionals for communication support of the development and realization of social and business projects (programs, strategies) of regional development with foreign partners.

About Program

Masters Program in Russian Studies: Siberia is a program aimed at training professionals for communication support of the development and realization of social and business projects (programs, strategies) of regional development with foreign partners.

The unique professional competencies acquired by students include the following ones:

  • skills for analytical, organizational and administrative support and elaboration of social and business projects for regional development;

  • knowledge of the natural characteristics, economy, history and culture of Siberia;

  • understanding of Russian administrative, political and legal institutions

  • ability to apply theoretical approaches and methodology for regional research

Prospective employers

Graduates of the Masters programme in Russian Studies: Siberia can follow their career paths as

  • analysts and consultants of state, public, commercial and other organizations working in Russian and Siberia in particular;

  • spokesmen of local and regional authorities;

  • business consultants for companies cooperating with Siberian and Russian partners.

Study Program

Students get the skills for the comprehensive analysis of political, social, economic, demographic, linguistic, cultural, ethno-confessional and other phenomena and processes occurring at the regional and interregional levels in order to elaborate the regional strategy.

Basic knowledge and skills are acquired during five learning modules:

  • Natural resources, economy, history and culture of Siberia

  • Institutions & political and legal characteristics of the region

  • Communication support for the development and realization of social and business projects for regional development

  • Methods of Regional Studies

  •  Russian language, social and cultural adaptation in the region

Project management skills are trained within learning activities and pregraduation practical training.

Application and admission

Each candidate must hold a Bachelor, Master or Specialist diploma.

The tuition is either free (10 budget places in 2020) or paid.


Each candidate passes an interview. The interview may be in person or through Skype.
