Russian Literature and Its European Communications

About the program

The program is designed for Master’s students wishing to take advanced study in the history of Russian literature in the context of national and world history and culture. The objectives include developing a methodological heritage of research schools dealing with Russian Literature, as well as introduction to modern scientific concepts and research methods in the field of History of Russian Literature and Comparative Studies. Mastery of modern technologies of literary education in high school is an important objective of the program.

The partners of the program and databases for research and language practices are University of Naples, University of Rome, and Berlin University (academic exchange programs).

The program prepares experts who are aware of the current state of the history of Russian and foreign literature and basic theoretical concepts of comparative studies, are able to critically evaluate new theoretical ideas and approaches, to think creatively and to offer new solutions for the burning issues of literary theory. The program aims to improve students’ understanding of the world literary process, to reflect a contemporary view of the main artistic values ​​and tendencies in the development of Russian-European relations with a combination of aesthetic and socio-cultural approaches.

Courses

The contents of the programme defines a set of special disciplines deepening understanding of the development of Russian literature and shaping competences in the study of international literary connections and intercultural communication.

Lecturers

Postgraduate program “Russian as a foreign language» is realized by the specialized departments of TSU Faculty of Philology. The facilities include a laboratory of “Comparative Studies and Imagology”, language laboratory providing an opportunity to hold classes on the practical course of foreign languages; multimedia and computer labs equipped for using audio and video materials in both analog and digital formats, and sufficient computer equipment with an access to Internet.
