The project goal is a comprehensive analysis of terrestrial megavertebrates extinction. Focus areas: paleoecology, paleozoology, geology, biogeochemistry, evolutionary history of flora and fauna, primitive society, veterinary science, medicine.
Specific Targets:
- Study of the southmost Eurasian mammoth refuge in Baraba steppe;

Study of dinosaur fauna refuge in the catchment of the Chulym River;

Study of key geological cross sections of the Mesozoic and the Cenozoic eras to reconstruct Siberia environment from ~ 250 million years ago until present;

Search for and study of new paleontological and geological objects of global importance;

Study of relations between ancient people and large mammoth fauna forms;

Creation of Siberia mammoth and dinosaur fauna collections at Tomsk State University that would be of global importance (including tomography and 3D scanning of unique exhibits for virtual exposition at Tomsk State University);

Suggestion of cultural heritage sites of various rankings (regional, federal, world — UNESCO);

Creation of scientific documentary and popular science photo and video products for atlases, magazines, brochures, TV and websites.
