This program is an applied one and aimed at training specialists with unique professional competences:
- knowledge of the key legal, institutional, economic and political aspects of the Eurasian Economic Union activities;
- ability to elaborate, manage and implement foreign trade projects and interregional cooperation links in the Eurasian Economic Union;
- ability to monitor the Eurasian Economic Union development, analyze information and prepare analytical reports about the Eurasian Economic Union
Graduates of the MA in Eurasian Integration: Politics, Law, Trade and Economic Relations can be employed by
offices or departments responsible for relations of the EAEU Member-states (Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Belarus) with the Eurasian Economic Union, within foreign affairs, trade, education, science ministries, customs bodies and migration services;
the Eurasian Economic Commission departments;
foreign-economic activity departments of regional authorities;
international departments of mass media in the EAEU Member-states;
state bodies, business and non-profit organizations engaged into the integration process in Eurasia and developing cooperation with the EAEU in China, Vietnam, India, Singapore, South Korea, etc.
Basic knowledge and skills in Eurasian integration analysis are acquired during the learning module on the basic features of the Eurasian Economic Union: history, legal and institutional characteristics, the Customs Union, sectoral integration and cooperation in the EAEU, EAEU common labour market.
Project management skills are trained within learning activities and pregraduation practical training. The latter is supervised by the specialists working in federal and regional authorities as well as businesses. The aim of this practical training is to provide students with planning and project management skills within current activities of the respective bodies related to Eurasian integration.
Practical analytical skills on the EAEU topics and issues are acquired within research seminars during two years of study, pregraduation practical training and Masters thesis preparation.
Russian students have English classes, foreign students are offered to attend Russian classes.
Leading lecturers and experts on Eurasian integration from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan come to give lectures at Tomsk State University every year.
During the Program students get extra resources for self-development. They can:
attend business seminars, organized by the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
participate in exchange programmes and double diploma programmes with the leading universities of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan;
get professional training in state departments and businesses.
Within the Strategic Academic Unit "Siberian Institute of the Future" Master students may participate in regular training sessions organized by Russian and foreign experts. These sessions are aimed at acquiring valuable skills in such areas as:
foresight-research;
project management (including projecting of future career);
seminars on international research protocol, entrepreneurship, data analysis and big data.
Masters Program in Eurasian integration is the part of network double degree programmes and exchange programmes in Eurasian integration realized by Tomsk state university jointly with the following universities:
L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan)
J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan);
K. Dikambayev Diplomatic Academy of Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).
The 2-year Double Master Degree programmes are organized in such a way that one academic year is taught at Tomsk State University and one academic year is taught at a partner university. As a result the graduate gets two state diplomas.
Students exchange Programs include studying at a partner university for one semester.
Each candidate must hold a Bachelor, Master or Specialist diploma.The tuition is either free (10 budget places in 2020) or paid.
Each candidate passes an interview on the peculiarities of the economic integration in the world. The interview may be in person or through Skype.
