Running Projects
Eco-friendly Resource Production and Raw Materials Processing
Tomsk State University offers researchers worldwide a way of monitoring man-made impact on the environment, which will make it possible to evaluate the impact of new technologies and the development of raw materials deposits.
Research into renewable energy sources (solar, biomass) is underway in collaboration with Russian Academy of Sciences institutes, such as the Boreskova Catalysis Institute and the Kurnakov Institute of Inorganic Chemistry. The development of alternative energy sources makes it possible for regions to stay on budget.
The research carried out jointly with the Siberian Agricultural and Peat Research Institute will make it possible to evaluate the impact of peat deep processing technologies on the cycle: soil – grain – plant – feed – aquaculture – livestock – humans – environment.
Existing technologies used in recycling and cleaning require serious re-evaluation from the point of view of environmental impact, resource protection and processing. A chain of innovative firms – Planta Plyus, Zolotar, Scientific Experimental Nursery – has been set up using Tomsk State University technologies, to provide complex solutions to environmental protection issues.
A retrospective analysis of the environment internationally, integrating data from geo-information systems on natural resources along the lines of that in place in Tomsk Region, will make it possible to evaluate the environmental impact of oil infrastructure development and exploitation, and will form a model for forecasting global environmental systems for 2020-2030.
